Garlic Jackson Comedy is a sketch comedy group of writers and performers in New York City. Their latest video, "It's a Freelance Life," is a needs-to-go-viral parody of the number "It's a Hard Knock Life" from the musical Annie. This video pretty brilliantly delivers a subtle nudge to 90s nostalgia (remember the 1999 TV-movie?) with original wit, relevant politics and unshy honesty (chips for dinner is a real thing). It's a voice for freelancers and a call to action for businesses who won't hire full-time creatives. It's how so many talented young people are living today. And it's funny.
